Engr. Vincent Maduka (OFR) was born on 5th October 1935. He attended King’s College, Lagos before proceeding to the University of Leeds (England), where he graduated with B.Eng. (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering in 1959. He later went up to Ireland (UCD), obtained the M.Eng.Sc. Degree in Applied Acoustics in 1969. Engr. Maduka was appointed the pioneer Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority, (NTA). He was assigned as Technical Adviser to the Ministry of Communications in 1983.

He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a former President of that Society. He is a Foundation Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering (FAEng) and was elected President of that Academy from 2004 to 2005. In February 2008, he was appointed Senior Fellow in the School of Media and communication of the Pan Africa University. In 2003, he was awarded the Nigerian national honor of the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).
